New York is always a good idea
Reminiscing on cooler weather and with the end of Summer around the corner, here’s a hotel review on Z NYC Hotel. Located in Long Island City, NY, my boyfriend James and I chose this hotel for its stunning views, shuttle service to the city and mostly positive reviews online for our 7 year anniversary. Z NYC Hotel is a 4-star boutique hotel with a unique layout, which provides everyone with a skyline view of Manhattan. Working in the hotel industry you tend to see smaller details and nitpick at everything, but looking back at our stay, I wouldn’t have chosen any other hotel.

I’ve made it to a full month! I’m actually really proud of myself. I haven’t cheated on my diet at all and have not craved meat once. That’s a lie, maybe once or twice. Some of you are probably curious to why I started this at all, and there’s a few reasons why. Keep in mind, all of these reasons are personal, and if you don’t agree that is completely fine. These are solely my feelings and opinions. There is no right or wrong way to live your life, and I do not believe I am better than anyone else that is not vegan.

I think the biggest thing I’ve overcome since being diagnosed is the frame of mind that because my body doesn’t function “normally”, I was somehow less of a person. I’ve learned to accept my body and how it works and just focus on finding what helps me stay healthy both physically and mentally!
Like 1 out of every 10 women, I was diagnosed with PCOS. Polycycstic ovarian syndrome, or PCOS, is a hormonal disorder that comes with a long list of several symptoms. Some of these symptoms include menstrual irregularity, obesity, excess hair growth (from increased testosterone), depression, and infertility. There’s no cure unfortunately, but there are ways in order to subside some of these symptoms and take control of your body. According to The PCOS Foundation,” An estimated 7 million women and adolescent girls are affected by PCOS, with less than 50% diagnosed. PCOS is responsible for 70% of infertility issues in women who have difficulty ovulating. Teens and post-menopausal women can also suffer from PCOS.” However, with help from your doctor, there are ways in managing your PCOS.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
It’s officially been a year since I graduated from The University of Central Florida! I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Science in Event Management with a minor in Hospitality. It took me six years to finally earn this degree! I was more than ready to finish and move on with my life. Now that it’s over, I kind of miss it. I don’t miss the long, sleepless nights, cram sessions, and poor food choices at 2AM, but I miss the structure of school. While I was in school the goal was to graduate, obviously. No one really talked about life post graduation though, and the confusion that follows with your accomplishment. However, instead of dwelling on the things I wish I had, or could have done, I’d prefer to look at things in a positive light. If you’re graduating, or recently graduated and going through post college depression, I hope this post gives you a different perspective.

Be the change you want to see in the world
Some of you might know by now that I’m a vegan newbie. Being vegan means you don’t consume any products that come from animals. I’ve been slowly adjusting my cosmetics, shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo, and have finally leaped entirely into being vegan. My boyfriend James has been the biggest influence on me, he’s been vegan for almost four years now. It all started off as a bet. Four years ago at Chipotle, he decided to opt out protein, so he could get free guacamole. I bet him he couldn’t go vegetarian for a month. He took the challenge and went way too far. He started off as a vegetarian, but later on found out he had some intolerance to dairy and was allergic to pork. This made him change from vegetarian to vegan. Since his journey started, we’ve been able to try out some new places that offer all vegan options or more than usual. Here are some of the places we’ve tried in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area.

Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer
The Bahamas is comprised of 700 islands and cays surrounded by crystal clear water. Nassau, Grand Bahama, Freeport, and Bimini are some of their top destinations, each island offering different Bahamian experiences. Would you like to travel to The Bahamas for the day? Maybe the weekend? You’re probably asking yourself how that’s even remotely possible. Why would anyone do that? Well, if you’re looking for a relaxing beach day in paradise away from swarms of tourists around Ft. Lauderdale or Miami Beach and you don’t mind the commute, keep reading.

I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing — that it was all started by a mouse.
Orlando, Florida, home of the happiest place on earth, Disney World! Being born and raised in Florida, I’ve grown up going to Disney World since I was about two years old. My senior year of college I also decided to get an annual pass and experience the magic of Disney as much as I could before I left Orlando, “The City Beautiful.” Each trip was a new experience and I definitely learned a lot more about being prepared and what to bring to the parks being an annual pass holder. Whether you’re going on a family vacation or for a day using your annual pass, here are some tips on how to save money, have a good time, and survive the Florida sun.

I’ve been wanting to launch this blog for a while now. This is the beginning of my Travel & Lifestyle blog. This blog will consist of this Florida girl’s adventures in life and becoming an actual adult. Fair warning, I did not get my B.A. in English and I tend to write how I speak, which is like my former 13 year old emo self. Also, follow my new Youtube channel where I begin a new adventure and not get attacked by squirrels. If you don’t know what I’m referring to click here. I will be posting every Tuesday with videos soon to come.
Get ready for the ride! I hope you enjoy it.
