The City That Never Sleeps

I haven’t done one of these in a while, let alone posted consistently, but this is a *life update! Some of you might have noticed that I moved away from sunny South Florida. I moved 1,253 miles away from home to be exact! It’s been a little over a month now and it’s still a whirlwind. The move happened so quickly! I really didn’t have time to think, I was in action mode. In that time span I’ve had a visit from my lovely boyfriend, James, and my best friend Ali! How lucky am I? With that being said, starting a new job, navigating public transportation, and balancing a new life has been somewhat difficult, but exciting nonetheless.

It was always a dream of mine to move to this crazy city. Ask anyone. After college I debated LA vs. NY for a while. I finally visited sunny California and it was a dream. Who doesn’t love California? The weather is perfect and Santa Monica is the most amazing place ever. However, I’ve always had that hustler mentality. If I had to choose any city to make it in, it had to be The City That Never Sleeps. So here I am! (I actually sleep btw)

So far I’ve made so many great friends, celebrated my 26th birthday, closed two deals at work, perfected my commute, managed to find my way home via bus system a little inebriated, eaten amazing food, and attended a music festival. I would say that’s a pretty great accomplishment for my first month!

Moving forward, I plan on continuing this blog and sharing my adventures in The Big Apple! Let’s see how many corny catchphrases I can use without actually saying the state name. Here are some photos from my first month! If you’d like to see more, feel free to add me on instagram (@melanieinaction), where I have plenty of #buildingporn. That’s a real thing, check it out.
